The patch took so long because the CTD is PC-related, and thus the patch will be obliged to reconfigure every single PC on this earth to eliminate CTD's. Simple logics, guys.

Surely all Aces is saying is that just because the devs are not experiencing CTD's anymore it does not preclude the possibility that we will, I'm sure some bright spark will find a way to crash it that the devs have missed :)

I think that this thread has reached the end - just like many others here lately ;)

If 10 testers have a range of PC's and they get CTD's all the time with our version of CLOD, then they apply the patch and now the CTD's have stopped and they have made no hardware changes to their PC's, what does that tell your about the CTD's?

am i missing something?

(by the way i made up the number of testers just in case i get jumped on again)

It tells me only a maximum of 10 different PC's have been tested with the patch, how many different setups do you think we have on this forum alone?

Dano 04-17-2012 08:11 PM

That in a very small test group it is 100% fixed, is it correct to assume that this means it is 100% fixed? Only if you have switched to being optimistic from the usual pessimism that pervades around here ;)

Well seems like eveyone is confused.. So allow me to clear this up

First things first

furbs stated that 99% of the people were experancing CTD

Which is NOT true

Based on posts in this very forum we know for a fact that some never experanced a CTD, and other only experanced them a few times

What that means is the CTD is very PC depended.

Just to be crystal, I am NOT saying the CTD is NOT a CoD bug, never have, never will! All I am pointing out is that it is PC depended.

And clearly I am in good company, because even BS went as far as to note that they are not experancing any CTD on 'thier' PCs. Which is another way of saying, we don't have every kind of PC combination out there at our disposale to beta test on, thus there is a slight chance that some people may still experance CTDs post patch. Why else would BS qualify the statment by saying 'on our PCs'?

Hope that helps!

S!

In that case, 99% is an accurate statement.

Disagree

And just to be crystal, if what you are saying/selling is true, than furbs should have said 100%, which would also be in error. There is not enough data to say exactally how many people are or are not having CTD issues, all we know for sure is that some do and some dont
